Project Description

As a Data Analyst, the project aims to delve into extensive datasets from retail supply chain domains to understand the business's profitability, efficiency, and delivery management. 

​

Tutorial overlays, custom filter panels, and bookmark navigators were my add-ons in this project. These features can greatly enhance the user experience.

Project Brief

1. Data Loading and ETL Operations

  • Loading data into Power Query for ETL operations

  • Separating data into different tables based on categories and properties
     

2. Data Modelling and Schema Creation

  • Building relationships between tables through data modelling

  • Implementing a star schema to organize data efficiently
     

3. Business Requirements and Analysis Areas

  • Understanding business requirements to identify key areas for analysis

  • Delivery time based on product and category

  • Return rate analysis

  • Sales and profit

  • Operational efficiency

4. Calculated Columns and DAX Measures

  • Creating calculated columns and DAX measures to support analysis

  • Developing specific metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) based on business needs
     

5. Report and Dashboard Development

  • Adding a bookmarks slicer and other visuals for interactive reporting

  • Designing and implementing comprehensive reports and dashboards for data visualization and insights

Key Insights

​​ 

  • The average delivery days for all the segments were approximately the same (34 days)

  • The same-day shipping mode correlates with a high return rate.

  • Despite the longer delivery time, customers still prefer the standard delivery option.

  • ​More than nine states achieved the perfect efficiency score based on our criteria.

  • The consumer segment generates two times more profit than the home office segment.

  • There is an almost four-fold increase in Anna Andreadi's return rate compared to that of the other salesperson.



Focusing only on sales and profit won't help the business grow every time. Along with this, equal weightage must be given to efficient delivery systems and inventory management. Lower delivery days will aid in increasing customer experience.
